Believe it or not, summer is finally right around the corner! Do your big plans currently consist of napping? Watching TV? Stalking social media?
No, no, and no, say admissions officers. They don’t necessarily care what you do this summer, but they like to see that you’ve done something. What is that something? Here are seven ways to make the most out of your summer, impress admissions officers and help your application stand out.
Most importantly, admissions officers want to see that you’ve gotten engaged with your community, or others’ communities, or that you’ve spent your summer trying to find out more about yourself – what you like, what you want to study and what you can contribute.
Kyle received a BS from Vanderbilt University and worked in admissions at the State University of New York at Buffalo and Rice University, where oversaw the BS/MD program with Baylor College of Medicine. Kyle is an IECA Associate Member.
